  • Critical Acclaim for Sugar Daddy

As theater prepares to rumble into its Tony season full-gear, Morrison’s is the best new show in New York right now: a whip-crack 65 minutes, beautifully told, sharp, moving, and truly laugh-out-loud, doubled-up, head-thrown-back funny.

    The Daily Beast

A wonderfully intimate offering that stints neither on big laughs, nor on honesty…Sam Morrison’s superb show about his partner’s death proves grief is not beyond comedy’s reach.

    The Guardian

Nothing I can write will truly describe the brilliance of this stand-up show. There simply isn't enough hyperbole.

    Broadway World

Quick-witted and charismatic...the grief comes out in laughs. Sam Morrison confronts overwhelming loss with punch lines and panache.

    New York Times

Unapologetically queer, filled with love and hilariously funny...one of the most powerful and fearless hours of comedy you’ll see.

    Broadway Baby

His openness and wit…ultimately his catharsis and the audience’s laughter draw everyone together in tragedy and comedy’s borderland.

    New Yorker

While audiences regularly double over with laughter throughout Sugar Daddy, they're equally likely to bow their heads with tears.

    Playbill

Brilliantly interweaves moments of full body laughter, deep poignancy and, ultimately, the triumph of life.

    Hey Alma

An irresistibly lovable exploration of love and loss. Morrison is a storyteller and craftsman.
